‘Take Flight’ Documentary

Looks like Amy took part in another small project. :) Details are below, courtesy of FEARNet.

Juliet’s documentary, Take Flight, offers a behind-the-scenes look at Oldman directing his music video for the band Chutzpah entirely with cell phones, one of which Oldman himself operates. “It’s like being inside his brain…seeing through his eyes,” says Juliet.

Because Take Flight is about the creative process, Juliet’s also interviewed some of her acting colleagues for the documentary, including a fistful of names very familiar to fans of Buffy, Angel and other favorite genre shows, as well as a handful of music stars.

Check out the guest list: Kat Von D, Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor on Smalllville), Sam Anderson (Bernard from Lost, Holland Manners from Angel), Amy Acker (Angel, Alias, Dollhouse), Christian Kane (Angel), David J (bassist for Love and Rockets, Bauhaus), Armin Shimermn (Quark from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Principal Snyder from Buffy), Harry Groener (The Mayor from Buffy) and Andrea Romano (voice director for all of Warner Bros animation.)

The madness premieres on julietlandaustakeflight.com, where you can watch a trailer for the film now. We’ll definitely be checking this one out.

Additional ‘Cabin’ Confirmation!

Amy undertook several (spoilery) interviews lately, covering Happy Town and the Dollhouse series finale, and we were lucky enough to also receive additional confirmation from Amy herself that she indeed does have a small part in The Cabin in the Woods — it took 3 weeks to film, with most of her scenes being opposite Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford. :) The extract is posted below; you can read this article in full & the other articles in the Press Library. Happy reading!

Q: You got to work with Joss and Drew Goddard again on The Cabin in the Woods, right?

Amy: Yeah. That was another lucky thing. They hadn’t found someone, and it was just a couple of days before shooting, so they asked me to go do The Cabin in the Woods. Drew is just so awesome, and Joss is one of my best friends. Any opportunity to work with them, I’m like, “I’ll do catering. I don’t care. Just let me hang out with you guys.”

Q: How big of a role did they have for you?

Amy: It’s a smaller role, but I was out there for three weeks of it. All of my stuff is with Richard Jenkins and Bradley Whitford, so I was just laughing the whole time.

Q: Is there a separate adult story going on, with this kid story in the woods?

Amy: I don’t know what I’m supposed to say about this movie. Maybe. It’s a horror movie.

Q: Is it scary or is it funny too?

Amy: I’m not going to say because I don’t want to get in trouble.

Q: What did you think when you found out it was going to be transferred into 3-D?

Amy: I was super-excited. I got a note. Drew sent out an email to everyone. Having a 5-year-old and a 3-year-old, every movie I’ve seen in the past year has been in 3-D, so I was like, “That would be so awesome, if they made a real movie in 3-D.” That’s the thing that everybody is doing now.

The Fairmont Banff Springs Sports Invitational

I’ve come across an image of Amy on the red carpet last month for the silent auction and Gala Awards Dinner portion of the ‘The Fairmont Banff Springs Sports Invitational’ which supports the Waterkeeper Alliance — as you may know, both Amy & her husband are stalwart supporters. A preview of the image is to your right & the gallery link is below, as well as an article explaining the event in more detail, enjoy! :)

Some of Hollywood’s top stars will gather in Banff and at Sunshine Village Jan. 14-17, 2010, to help protect North America’s waterways.

The Fairmont Banff Springs Sports Invitational – in support of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Waterkeeper Alliance – will be co-hosted by Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning actor Alec Baldwin and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The 10-year-old Waterkeeper Alliance is the world’s fastest growing environmental movement, with member organizations throughout North and South America, Europe and Australia, all dedicated to clean water.

The Invitational, which has raised millions of dollars for environmental protection in recent years, has in the past drawn such Hollywood A-list stars as Glenn Close, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Meg Ryan, Dan Aykroyd, Jason Priestley and Martin Sheen. This year’s participants will be announced as the event draws closer.

The stars will also spend two action-packed days skiing and competing in fun events at the famous Sunshine Village. Activities including toboggan, cross-country skiing and dual giant slalom races are well within public view to skiers and snowboarders. The event will culminate with a gala dinner and concert at The Fairmont Banff Springs by Lyle Lovett. Tickets are available for the star-studded gala, the only open to the public event at the famed Banff National Park landmark.

“We are delighted to host Hollywood in support of the Waterkeepers,” said Ralph Scurfield, president and CEO of the resort. “Sunshine Village has been recognized as North America’s leading ski and snowboard resort for our water conservation practices and we can’t wait to show the stars the leading environmental programs we built into the new Sunshine Mountain Lodge.”

In 2009, the made-for television extravaganza raised more than $1 million for the Waterkeeper Alliance.

‘Happy Town’ Finds a Home on ABC

ABC has finally cleared a space on the schedule for its drama Happy Town.

The series, a small-town mystery the network is comparing to Twin Peaks, will premiere at 10 p.m. ET Wednesday, April 28. It will fill the spot currently held by Ugly Betty, which will have completed its final season by then.

ABC has ordered eight episodes of Happy Town, which means it will likely run into the early part of the summer.
