Away for Christmas

Just a heads up that I’ll have limited internet access in the coming weeks over Christmas as I’ll be visiting family, but rest assured, I shall have plenty to update with when I return — and let’s not forget — Amy’s final episodes of Dollhouse (2×11 – Getting Closer and 2×12 – The Hollow Men) shall be airing on January 8, 2010 and January 15, 2010 respectively!

Hope everyone has a good Christmas and see you all in the run up to the New Year! :)

New ‘Happy Town’ Promo & Synopsis

Looks like ABC is starting to gear up the promotion for Happy Town!

Thanks to TVOverMind, we have a brand new synopsis regarding Happy Town; several new episode stills — one of which features Amy in the background so it’s been added to the gallery — and thanks to Zap2it there’s also a brand new extended trailer. Again, Amy is only featured very briefly but they contain new-ish scenes and a brand new logo for the show. The (lengthy) synopsis is under the cut & the new trailer is available for viewing below — I’m currently unable to make screencaps — but in the meanwhile, enjoy! :)

ABC Confirms 2009-10 Order Numbers

ABC has locked in its scripted commitments for the 2009-10 season.

The news, which was confirmed to the site exclusively by network and studio sources, includes some adjustments to its previously indicated episode orders.

Newcomers “V” and “FlashForward” are set to film 12 and 24 total hours, respectively, both one episode shy of numbers reported earlier this fall. Come 2010 then the Alphabet will have eight new episodes of “V” (returning March 30) while “FlashForward” (returning March 4) will offer up 14 fresh installments.

At midseason, seven episodes of “The Deep End” and “Romantically Challenged” as well as eight hours of “Happy Town” are on tap.

As for its returning slate, “Grey’s Anatomy” is set to film 24 episodes while “Desperate Housewives” is booked for 23 hours.

The rest of its lineup – including “Castle,” “The Middle,” “Modern Family,” “Cougar Town,” “Private Practice,” “Ugly Betty” and “Brothers & Sisters” – currently have the standard full seasons of 22 episodes.

Rounding out the bunch then are “Lost” and “The Forgotten” with 18 episodes each and “Scrubs” and “Better Off Ted” with 13 episodes apiece.

Sources however were quick to note that the option still exists to order additional episodes of several of the aforementioned series.

First American Film Ever Shot in Vietnam to Be Released in D.C. Area

The director of 21 and a Wake-Up, Chris McIntyre, has issued a media invition to the Press to view a screening of the film in the DC area; details are as follows. It’s looking like theatres for this movie shall be expanding from the Chicago area very shortly!

Dear Hard Charging Journalist,

If you are available this coming Tuesday evening, December 8th, I’d like to invite you and a guest to a VIP and Press screening of a new film about the Vietnam War unlike anything you have ever seen.

“21 AND A WAKEUP” is the very first American motion picture about the War ever allowed by the Vietnamese Government to film on location in Vietnam.

This is not an anti-American screed, but a fair and balanced look at the war seen through the eyes of doctors, nurses, soldiers and newsmen at the 24th Evac Hospital, the last major Army Hospital in the south to close in ‘71 and ‘72.

It’s been called “The Best Portrayal of Women at War ever put on Film…”

It dramatizes the heroic daily lives of men and women stationed on major military bases who were not slogging through rice paddies. The daily brutality of the War from a grunt’s perspective has already been depicted in many films, though none shot in Vietnam.

It contains shots from the Vietnamese national archives never before seen in the west.

We have an excellent cast of widely respected actors, including Amy Acker, Danica McKellar, Faye Dunaway, Tom Sizemore, JC Chasez, Wes Studi, Ed Begley, Jr, Ben Vereen, Andre Royo and Tim Thomerson.
